Hackney Town Hall Atrium wedding
Kat and Vince’s wedding at Hackney Town Hall was such a fun day, so relaxed and just SO cool! K + V were the kindest couple, and it was evident they were just having the best time the whole day. They chose to have myself and George (my partner) as a 2nd shooter, meaning we quite literally, had all angles covered.
One of the best things about town hall weddings in London is the cool, city-vibe they give, but often they involve a fair bit of travelling: getting ready location to town hall to reception location - you can end up spending a lot of the day travelling. With Kat and Vince’s day, from the ceremony onwards, everything took place at Hackney Town Hall, which meant more time for celebrating and less time worrying about logistics - always a win in my book!
The day started with Kat getting ready at a nearby Airbnb, surrounded by her wonderful bridesmaids and family. Kat’s loved ones made me feel so welcome and part of the gang as soon as I got there. It’s always such a nice feeling, it really helps me to immerse myself in the day and document it authentically. At the same time, George was with Vince and the boys at Kat and Vince’s flat capturing all their getting ready moments. The boys headed to a local pub for some drinks before making their way to Hackney Town Hall.
A Hackney Town Hall ceremony
Hackney Town Hall is a really popular choice for couples looking for a London town hall, such an iconic venue with the atrium bringing something different to the standard town hall ceremony room. For Kat and Vince’s ceremony, the room was decorated with the most stunning florals by Sweet Pea Rosa. Kat came down the lift as her bridal entrance which made everyone laugh!
Straight after the ceremony, I quickly stole Kat and Vince away upstairs for a few relaxed portraits amongst the beautiful art deco interior of Hackney Town Hall. It’s such a gem for portraits, especially if you want something really nearby, but still refined and stylish. Then it was back downstairs for an epic confetti line!

Couple portraits near London Fields
Once Kat and Vince had time to chat with everyone, we slipped out briefly for their couple portraits just around the corner from Hackney Town Hall. We found some great backdrops near some railway arches, a mix of urban textures and natural light that worked beautifully! It was also a nice for K+V to spend some time just the two of them, before jumping back into the (best kind of) chaos.
Wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing
Back inside, the wedding breakfast kicked off with the MCs getting everyone involved in a game before Kat and Vince made their entrance. Speeches followed, and as the evening rolled on, cocktails were poured, the cake was cut, and the dancefloor began - one of my favourite parts of the day to photograph!
Kat and Vince’s wedding was a brilliant example of how a town hall wedding in London can feel really cool and fashion forward, but still relaxed, fun and personal. K+V thank you for having me! Such an incredible day with the best people - lucky me!
If you’re planning a wedding at Hackney Town Hall, or looking for a London wedding photographer who focuses on candid, relaxed photos full of feeling and fun, I’d love to hear from you.
