Black wedding dress at Hackney Town Hall + The Marksman pub
Victoria and James’ Hackney wedding was such a unique and cool celebration that I loved being part of. Such a wonderful group of people and I was just obsessed with Victoria’s whole look!
The day started with a walk from their home down to Hackney Town Hall via Columbia Road, capturing some playful photos with heart-shaped balloons along the way. Victoria looked amazing in her black cocktail dress, complete with matching heart shoes and bag. Having couple portraits before the ceremony is a great idea, allowing you to enjoy the drinks reception fully, free to mingle without needing to slip away.
Their ceremony was intimate and full of emotion, surrounded by close friends and family. Sometimes the most intimate of ceremonies has the biggest of emotion! Straight after the ceremony, we headed outside for the most colourful confetti moment on the iconic Town Hall stairs, balloons flying everywhere, followed by lots of hugs and congratulations from family and friends. I love capturing this part so much, pure candid moments and shared joy!
Victoria and James then hopped on a (bog standard!) London bus to The Marksman pub, so I took full advantage of this and captured them on the journey. The afternoon was spent enjoying drinks and oysters on the roof terrace, followed by a relaxed meal and speeches inside. It really was just the perfect example of a relaxed, fun Hackney wedding, reimagining tradition in their own way.
If you’re planning a cool city wedding, lets chat! I’d love to capture your day in the city in the way that tells your story best.
