Golden hour portraits at Beckenham Place Mansion wedding

Fern and Jake’s wedding was such a brilliant day that I loved being part of. There were so many different elements to the day, blending heartfelt traditions with flawless styling. Plus a golden hour moment that just kept on giving!

The morning started with George, (my second shooter), capturing Jake getting ready at home with his family and friends + lots of food (a win for George!). I was with Fern and her bridal party at the Brama Hotel, capturing the morning preparations and some lovely portraits of Fern in Bromley Town Hall, a quirky little bonus being that it’s actually where David Bowie got married!

The ceremony took place at a stunning church, followed by a confetti send-off with flower garlands. Jake and Fern chose to use colourful disk shape confetti which is a great option as it shows up in photographs really well. After a few family photos, it was off to Beckenham Place Mansion for the drinks reception.

The afternoon was relaxed yet elegant, with guests mingling outside and enjoying the sun. I was really blown away by the floral arrangements throughout the day, the wedding breakfast setup was gorgeous, with incredible florals by Rust & Bloom.

After they had chatted to most of their guests, I was able to steal Fern and Jake away with me in the gardens amongst lavender and bees to capture some portraits. I only take about 15 minutes for couple portraits but that’s all you need! They then headed in for speeches and dinner but just as the sun set, we managed to get some bonus dreamy, golden-hour shots, some of my favourite in teh whole gallery. The day ended on a high with upbeat, classy acoustic music from The Duplettes, keeping the celebration classy and joyful.

Fern and Jake, thank you so much for having George and I, we loved being there to capture your perfect day!
